ImageServer Feature List
DICOM
- DICOM C-STORE (SCP/SCU) for most currently approved DICOM SOP Classes.
- DICOM C-STORE (SCP/SCU) support for JPEG Baseline, JPEG Extended, JPEG Lossless, and RLE (32-bit and 64-bit OS's).
- DICOM C-FIND and C-MOVE (SCP) for Patient Root and Study Root query models. All IHE related query fields are supported to the image level.
- DICOM multi-byte and extended character set support.
- DICOM device management for limiting features remote DICOM devices can access.
- DICOM WADO with DICOM mime type support
Image Streaming
QA
- Configurable policies for dealing with duplicate images sent to the server, including Q/A functionality for comparing duplicate images received.
- Q/A functionality for detecting and repairing images where demographic data in the image does not match the current demographic data of the study.
Partitions
- Logical partitioning with shared system resources (i.e. each partition can have its own AE Title and data sent to a partition can only be queried through that partition)
Filesystems
- Support for multiple filesystems for online storage including NAS devices. Filesystems can be added at any time.
- Support for filesystem tiering, where studies are initially stored on Tier 1 filesystems and then subsequently migrated to lower tier filesystems. This facilitates having faster performing disk for new studies and less expensive disk for priors where performance isn't as much of an issue.
Rules Engine
- Rules based online compression of studies. Studies can be compressed using JPEG Baseline, JPEG Extended, JPEG Lossless or RLE transfer syntaxes at specified times and compression ratios (for lossy compression).
- Rules based Autorouting
- Watermark based disk management. Minimum retention times for studies are set through the rules engine.
Archiving
- Archival support to HSM based interfaces.
Scalability
- Database and services can be installed separately and thus reside on separate servers. Clustering of services supported to increase the processing power of the server.
- 32-bit and 64-bit Windows support
Usability
- Alerts mechanism to notify administrators when system related errors occur.
- Application log viewer
- Import folder. DICOM files can be copied into a folder on a filesystem and the files are automatically imported into the ImageServer.
- Auto-recovery of failed jobs.
- Dashboard provides a snapshot of the entire ImageServer with information like the total Studies, number of Work Queue Items, File System status, and current Alerts.
- Series Level Manipulation - Series can be moved and deleted.
