Reconciling Studies

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

In order to reconcile a study, select a study and click "Reconcile". This will bring up the Reconcile Study screen which will display the two studies side-by-side including the Series of each study. The conflicting fields will be highlighted in red. At the bottom of this dialog are five possibilities of what can be done with the conflicting study in order to reconcile it:

Merge Using Existing Study:  Merge images into the existing study and use the information in the existing study for the updated study.
Merge Using Conflicting Study:  This will merge the data of the conflicting study with the existing study, overwriting the information of the existing study using the conflicting information. If the patient of the existing study has other studies, the server will remove the study shown in the Reconcile Study dialog and attach it to the new patient. The other studies will still be attached to the existing patient
Create New Study:  This will create an entirely new study using the information of the Conflicting study.
Discard Study:  This will discard the conflicting study.
Ignore (Process As is):  Merge conflicting images into the study without changes to the existing demographics. This will result in studies that have mixed demographic information.

Once an option is selected and "OK" is clicked, the study will be moved from the study integrity queue to the work queue with the appropriate action taken based on the user's selection. Note: The ImageServer “remembers“ all actions made in the Reconcile Study.  If more images with the same demographics are received after the reconciliation has been made, the same action will be automatically taken for those images.
