Duplicate Studies

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Duplicate studies occur when a study is sent more than once to the ImageServer with the same Service Object Pair (SOP) Instances. The incoming duplicate could differ from the existing study in demographics, by the number of images, or dicom information. In order for duplicate studies to appear in the study integrity queue, the Server Partition must be configured to have it's Duplicate Object Policy set to "compare".

Duplicate studies will be indicated by the type "Duplicate" in the Study Integrity Queue and will bring up the following Dialog box when "Reconcile" is clicked:

Four actions can be taken for Duplicate SOP Reconciliation:

Use Existing Demographics: overwrite the existing copy of the images and use existing demographics for the updated study.
Use Duplicate Demographics: overwrite existing copy of the images and use the duplicate demographics for the updated study.
Replace as is: overwrite existing copy of the images without changing the demographics for the updated study.
Delete Duplicates: discard the duplicate without making any changes.

In addition to the the reconciliation information, an "Additional Info" tab contains the file location of the studies being reconciled.
