The ImageServer maintains a list of DICOM devices for each partition. As discussed for Server Partitions, devices can be automatically inserted into this list, or they can be manually inserted within the Web GUI.
For each device, there are a number of configuration options that can be set. Devices can be identified as DHCP devices, which means the server will update the IP address stored in the database for the device each time it connects. If the device issues a DICOM retrieve request, the outgoing association will connect to the latest IP address in the database.
The DICOM services that the ImageServer will negotiate with a device can be configured. A device can be configured to support DICOM Storage, DICOM Query, and DICOM Retrieve. The ImageServer will automatically reject at the DICOM association level requests for DICOM services that are not configured for the device.
Auto-routing can be enabled/disabled by device. This allows for turning off auto-routing to a device that may be temporarily non-functioning without having to update the auto-routing rules.
