Upgrading from ImageServer Server 1.5 SP1
Before you can begin an upgrade, all Study Integrity Queue items as well as all pending Reconcile items must be cleared out first. These items cannot be carried over into ImageServer 2.0.
The ImageServer 2.0 Installer only supports upgrades from the released versions 1.5 SP1 and 1.3. It is VERY IMPORTANT that you read the Upgrading from Official Releases section in the online version of the ImageServer 2.0 User's Guide before attempting to install 2.0. Please pay particular attention to the Notes on Upgrading from Version 1.5.
As part of the upgrade process, all application files will be removed, but the database must remain so that it can be updated by the 2.0 Installer to be compatible before installing the 2.0 application files. The instructions below describe how to proceed with the upgrade specific install pages. For more details on the non-upgrade related pages of the 2.0 Installer, please refer to the previous section Performing A New ImageServer Install
1. Backup the Database
Before performing an upgrade from a previous version, it is highly recommended to perform a Full backup of the ImageServer database. This is done within SQL Server Management Studio.
2. Run the Installer
Run the ImageServer 2.0 Installer and it will detect that an older version is already installed. Click OK to upgrade.

The ImageServer 2.0 Installer will begin the upgrade.
3. Enter Database Connection Information
Continue through the install and enter the database connection information. The installer will detect an existing database and prompt you to confirm the upgrade. Proceeding without the upgrade is NOT recommended since the install may not be functional.

Click Yes to confirm the database upgrade.
4. Complete the Installer
The Installer will silently remove the previous version in the background. Once it is removed, continue with the 2.0 installation.

You may now continue with installing 2.0.
