RIS Server 2.0 Installation

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

This Chapter contains instructions on how to prepare a first-time RIS Server installation on a computer. This means that you do not have a previous version of RIS installed on the computer and do not have a database from a previous version which you wish to use with this new installation.  If you have a previous version of 1.5 and wish to upgrade to 2.0, please refer to the upgrading RIS section of this Guide.  These instructions also describe how to configure the RIS server with a Local Client Only configuration which installs an X.509 certificate that is limited to use by a client Workstation on the same computer as the RIS Server.

Prerequisites

Before launching the RIS Server Installer you must have the following components installed:

1.Microsoft Internet Information Server (may require Windows Installation Disc)
2.Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1
3.Microsoft SQL Server

Please refer to the Software Prerequisites chapter if these are not yet installed.
