Steps 1 and 2 below are only necessary if you cannot access Configure Settings from the Utilities sub menu in the Tools menu from the Admin menu select Authority Groups, which can happen if you experienced certificate issues during the RIS Server install.
1. Import Authority Tokens
Select Authority Groups from the Admin menu. When the Authority Groups workspace opens, click on the Import authority tokens button as seen below.

Import additional authority tokens and groups to grant the RIS admin access to Configuration Settings.
Once this is done, close the Workstation application and launch it again. When you log in as the RIS admin again, you will now have the ability to grant the Administrators Authority Group access to Settings Management.
2. Add Settings Management Token to Administrators Group
The default setting after a successful install is to have all tokens granted (all boxes checked) for the RIS Admin, while a incomplete install will leave some tokens unassigned. Open the Administrators Authority Group and expand the Desktop branch. The RIS Admin account requires at least the Settings Management token to be granted to proceed.

This now completes the install procedure for the Local Client Configuration. If you are using your own certificate please work through the last step below to complete the Configuration for Remote Clients.
3. Modify BaseURL
Perform this step if you are using the Remote Clients configuration. For Remote clients, the BaseURL needs to be updated so that the client no longer looks for server resources at the localhost address. Select Configure Settings from the Utilities sub menu under the Tools Menu. Under the Group list select ClearCanvas.Ris.Client.WebResourcesSettings, then in the section below, select the BaseURL setting and modify the Value so that any localhost reference is replaced with the actual RIS Server hostname. This will allow the preview panes to show the web pages from the correct address.

Update the BaseURL so that localhost is replaced with the RIS Server hostname.
Congratulations! You have successfully completed a new RIS install. Please read the RIS User's Guide for more details on how to use the software.
