After an intense development and testing cycle, ClearCanvas RIS/PACS 2.0 is now finally available! This big new release introduces a number of new features, including MPR in the Workstation, personal worklists in the RIS, and a number of performance improvements in the ImageServer. We are very excited about all the things that 2.0 has to offer. We hope you enjoy using it as much as we enjoyed building it! Be sure to check our great new videos too! (Note that this release also resolves the issue described in Product Bulletin 002.)

A defect has been discovered in ClearCanvas Workstation 1.5 and 1.5 SP1 that has resulted in a product recall. Though the risk of harm to patients is low, we have decided to suspend access to the downloads so that new users will not be affected. Please read Product Bulletin 002 to understand the problem and take the appropriate actions. We apologize for any inconvenience this issue may cause.

We are very pleased to announce that the ClearCanvas RIS/PACS is now Health Canada licensed, allowing it to be used for clinical purposes in Canada. Health Canada is the first in a series of regulatory licenses we will be applying for in 2010. Stay tuned for more!

ClearCanvas is not only a RIS/PACS, it's also a development platform that allows you to extend it the way you see fit. See what some folks in the medical imaging research community have done with ClearCanvas on our new Videos page!

Want to help make the next version of ClearCanvas Workstation and RIS even better? Then help us test Workstation/RIS 2.0 Alpha, which is now available for download! (Yes, we're calling it 2.0 instead of 1.6.) There are a number of new features in this new version, including MPR, memory management, the ability to launch external apps like ImageJ from within CCW, user-definable worklists and incoming fax workflow. Note that we haven't updated the user guide yet, but we think you'll be able to find most of the new features on your own. And remember, it's an alpha version, so expect to find bugs. Also, as important as it is to test the new features, we encourage you to test out the old features as well, just in case we've broken anything. When you find a bug, go to our Beta Testers forum and tell us all about it. Happy testing!
