ClearCanvas Releases Personal Edition

Toronto, ON, August 29, 2012 - ClearCanvas Inc., an innovative medical imaging informatics company, today announced the release of a new solution in its popular workstation suite named “ClearCanvas Workstation, Personal Edition”.

Personal Edition will act as a functional bridge between the company’s previous workstation offerings, the free Community Edition and commercial Clinical Edition. Unlike previous versions of the Workstation, users can download a copy of Personal Edition and try the company’s advanced clinical feature set free for one month, then automatically revert to a basic community edition if they are not interested in purchasing the clinical application.

“Personal Edition provides an excellent opportunity for our community members to further explore the advanced features of our clinical edition software,” said Norman Young, President and CEO of ClearCanvas Inc. “There is no commitment or purchase required to download the solution. If users like the advanced features, they can purchase the complete application during their trial period. If they are only interested in a basic viewing workstation however, and don’t require an FDA cleared workstation with HIPAA level security, there is no need to download and reinstall a different application after the trial has expired.”

ClearCanvas Workstation, Personal Edition includes the highly valued feature set of the Clinical Edition which allows user to perform a variety of tasks such as MultiPlanar Reformatting (”MPR”), PET/CT image fusion (with SUV), Hanging Protocols, Easel, Digital Subtraction Imaging, Spine Labeling, PDF Import, Media Burning and a host of other features

Hanging Protocols contained in Personal Edition are easy to configure and eliminate the need for repetitive actions performed by Radiologists. They allow users to automatically configure screen layouts and display settings for different studies based on modality type and anatomy, amongst other criteria. Hanging Protocols expedite workflow by eliminating the repetitive, time consuming task of resetting layout and display properties for different patient studies.

Easel is a proprietary feature in ClearCanvas Workstation that automatically displays thumbnails and other information related to relevant priors for each patient study. Instead of manually searching for previous patient images, a comprehensive list is automatically imported into the viewing window, allowing Radiologists to easily select comparative images.

Digital Subtraction Imaging enhances the visibility of contrast agents in a series of images by using masks that are generated with one or more pre-contrast images. Digital Image subtraction can be performed on grayscale CT, MR, Fluoro and X-ray Angiography images.

PET/CT Image Fusion allows users to visualize combined anatomy and physiology through PET/CT imaging. Uncalibrated PET/CT images can be visualized in the system and present users with a warning. For enhanced diagnostic information, the system also calculates. Standardized Uptake Values (“SUV”).

Spine Labelling is a tool in ClearCanvas Workstation that allows quick and accurate labeling of the spine in three dimensions. It allows users to automatically label segments of the spine by quickly clicking on each vertebrae. A context menu suggests appropriate labels which can be accepted or declined based on user input.

ClearCanvas Workstation, Personal Edition will replace the company’s earlier releases, ClearCanvas Workstation, Clinical Edition as well as the currently free Community Edition.

To further support the company’s loyal install base of Community Users, ClearCanvas will offer a limited time promotional pricing of the application for $950 USD. worksatatin v3 files

Hi,

I have been using CCWS for a long time since ver 1.3. I have upgraded it to v3 for a time ago. Since I have to format my computer (virus attack) I did not have the setup/installation files for worksatatin V3. As I can not find the files on the web, if any body knows or have the file can help.

Cine speed too slow?

Hello,

A doctor that I work with was using an older version of CC workstation until his computer crashed. At that point, the newest version was installed, but he is complaining that his cardiology cine loops play back too slowly. If you watch the loop, you can fairly easily ascertain that the heart does not beat at approx. 1 beat/sec as expected. (Please don't beat me up over the specifics! LOL! I'm not a doctor, Jim!)

We've tried cranking up the speed on the cine play control, but it does not do the trick.

Has anybody encountered this before, or have any suggestions?

Please advise.

Unexpected error when reading file

Hello maybe someone can help me here! I am having issues opening certain DICOM files from one practice only. I can view the DICOM in MicroDICOM successfully but cannot view it under eFilm or ClearCanvas. Below is the error from the LOG and I have also included a direct link to the file. how image inverting be saved as presentation state?

how clearcanvas save image inverting into presentation state?

If we use presentation lut shape tag(2050,0020) and set value to "INVERSE", is it a valid way in dicom standard for both mono1 and mono2 images.

Any anwser will be appreciated.

CC WorkstationPersonal 7.1SP1 retrieve study very slow

I have tried to retrieve Ultrasound-Echo study via VPN and the retrieve speed was unacceptably slow. The VPN is not the reason in my case, I have tested the same study with CC Workstation 2.0 SP1 (and other DICOM workstations) and they were really fast. So I would blame the new CC version.

Is there any way to speed up?

How to close the console

Hi,

When I open a clear canvas I can see the command prompt console opening with following lines :

C:\>cd CCWorkStation

C:\CCWorkStation>cd NShreds

C:\CCWorkStation\NShreds>cd bin

C:\CCWorkStation\NShreds\bin>cd Debug

C:\CCWorkStation\NShreds\bin\Debug>ClearCanvas.ImageViewer.Shreds.exe

Even I close ClearCanvas, the console is not getting closed. If I open the CC again one more console is getting opened.

Is there a way to close the opened consoles.

I anonymized three dozen of studies but found out that the studies were not anonymized on the harddisk. Second, I did that yesterday and today all my studies were gone i.e. not visible in "my studies" overview? have they really disappeared?

suddenly when I right-mouse-button a study in the studies overview of My Studies (CC 2.0) only the options "Open" and "view Series Details" are able, the others (amongst them "delete") not (anymore?)

What happend, as I am a noob and after searching the existing topics couldnot find an answer?

Thumbnails not displayed in Windows 7 version

I recently downloaded Clear Canvas on a Windows 7 machine for our ER physicians. They were previously using version 1.5 in Windows XP and could display multiple thumbnails. With the Windows 7 version, they're only seeing one image and cannot view previous images. Is there something I need to configure to allow thumbnails and to allow them to store plain films?

Add implant graphics to PresentationImage

Hello,

I have a project that i want to develop with ClearCanvas. The project aims to test compatibility of orthopedic implants with dicom images for surgical operations. To check this compatibility i will overlay implant images to dicom images. Implant images are in .dxf format. I am planning to convert these images to vector annotations rather than raster image annotations. Firstly, i wanted to confirm that if it is suitable to use vector annotations. Secondly, I found a C# code converting .dxf images to vector graphics. Should i map this classes of library to ClearCanvas classes? Any help on the issues is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hi,

I just moved studies from VetPACS to CCImageServer and when I use the workstation to view one of the studies I get this error instead of the image "The specified timeout is less than zero. Parameter name: waitTimeout"

What is the reason that I'm getting this error? I even tried to delete the studies and sent it again but still getting the same error!!

Is there a way to start ClearCanvas from a command line to open a specific study ID off our my PACS server? I currently have my EMR querying our PACS and giving me a list of studies but need a viewer that I cant start from a link to open the study.
