Is there a forum where people can contact plugin developers if they would like to hire someone to create a plugin for them?

Cheers, Kris

Hi Kris,

People have posted for plugin developers in this forum before, so this is a good place to start. I've also seen others post on sites like RentACoder.com (now called vWorker.com, I believe). Not sure how successful people have found that.

How about if you're looking for someone for a permanent position? Would the forum be an appropriate place for that as well? I'm looking to hire an intermediate deveoper to work on ClearCanvas and OSCAR (an open source EMR).

Hi Kris,

I don't see any reason why not, so feel free.

Hello Developers

Well How about having a web page where developers have created various types of  plugins and where people can come and choose to purchase these plugins.

In this method some percentage could go back to CC and the rest to the developer who made the plugin.

I looked at the Sugar CRM project where they have an eshop where both free and paid plugins are available for people to purchase.

what do you think guys?

Cheers

Hi Tim,

That exact model is something that we've had in mind for quite some time, actually. I'd be interested to know from the community what kind of demand there might be for something like that, since the business case would have to make sense for it to be worthwhile. Our existing open source plugin repository doesn't have as many contributions as we had hoped for, so I'm not sure if that's an indication of how successful a commercial plugin "market" might be. What do people think?

I think that having the ability to purchase plugins would be a great idea as it would provide additional incentive for people to develop them. Having some sort of mechanism for people to list themselves as development resources - for people that want to customize ClearCanvas or have a custom plugin build - would also be beneficial. My 0.02.

Hi All,

I think an e-store for plugins is a great idea ,cc is a great procuct ,but there is still

so much to add which could benefit all end users I imagine the majority of us would be willing to pay for essential add ons such as VR & MWL etc etc

Keep up the good work
