Hi,

I am trying to use the webstation as a potential way to visualize some high resolution CT data. However, the images are huge (2K x 2K) each, and I was wondering if the webstation cached images locally (on the remote station), or if it had to re-stream each image? Since I may have a stack of 50 images, I would prefer relatively seamless moving through the stack.

thanks,

-Ray

 Ray,

Yes, there is some caching going on in the server for the Webstation.  It does load the study and will keep in memory images that are close to the current image that's being viewed. I believe in the Alpha version of the Webstation there are some configuration options in the ShredHostService's configuration file related to how the data is cached. The options are identical to those used for the Workstation, since they use the same code.  I think if you search for ImageWindow in the configuration file, and take a look at this post, that should help.
