We have implemented ClearCanvas Ris Client and ClearCanvas Ris Server. There is another Information System where the patient information is entered. This Information system sends HL7 feeds. We want to go ahead and have the HL7 module to process the feeds.

From what little I know off, HL7 is a commercial property. With regard to this I have a few queries

  • Pricing of HL7?
  • Is there royalty associated?
  • Only binaries or the source would be provided?
  • On purchase, is there any further tweaking or extending of HL7 or RisServer?
  • If implemented in more than one institution, does it need to be tweaked or extended, what else should be the process.?
  • On purchase of HL7 module, is it also necessary to purchase HL7 database

If any thing missing in my query as far as HL7 is concerned, please enlighten.

Sabih

Hi Sabih, Fattony,

Happy New Year to you both!

The HL7 interface is not yet available as a commercial product and I can't give you a precise timeline as to when it will be available. I can tell you however, that making commercial offerings available is something we intend to focus on this year.
