Hi,

I am trying to set up a MWL server, I have gone ahead and created a new class(MwlScpExtension) to handle Basic Modality Worklist requests.

The basic modality request from the equipment, at this point of time can be serviced by responding with a  data set(hard coded values).

Since the DICOM functionality is working fine with respect to receiving requests and sending responses in terms of hard coded values, what I am trying to achieve is to extract worklist specific data from the RIS database.

Any pointers, suggestions from where to start which classes to target , how to go about.

Hi Zarrar, have got any progress with the MWL ?

 

Made some inroads on that aspect, response to the modality is being sent, though we have to finalize on the work list attributes which we would be sending, how to pick up these attributes from the database is what is pending.

As of now shifted focus to something else, the moment I get back to MWL and  through with it, shall keep posted.

 

That sounds like you are on the right track but still a lot of work needs to be done.
I'll keep an eye on this posting to watch your progress ;-)

Unfortunately we don't have the time or resources to provide detailed assistance on a topic like this. The RIS data model closely follows the IHE Scheduled Workflow Model. Your best bet is to have a look at the IHE documentation, as well as the DICOM documentation. If you have more specific questions we will attempt to answer them.

If I'm not wrong, @zarrar is asking for specific tables on DB to generate the MWL...

Well, I'm trying to do this but not with MWL. I'm connecting a Web APP to RIS, and I can generate an Order, with Patient demographic info and later view images and generate report, but the last part, is made manually... because we don't have MWLS, so @zarrar, I can tell you what tables you must to write. That's what you want, don't you?

Hi zarrar (or anyone else that can help). Do you perhaps have any source code for your MWL app? I am trying to develop a simple app that will take a query from a modality, and reply with info from a RIS DB. I can code the DB connections etc but need assistance with the actual MWL service to handle the queries and responses.

Any help will be greatly appreciated...

We are working on MWL(PACS and RIS), MPPS(PACS and RIS) and HL7 (RIS) plugins for clearcanvas. We are schedule to finish all projects around September. HL7 is currently almost finished. It is working but going though our QA deptment. Our QA process takes a month or sometimes more because of FDA requirements.MPPS is also working but in alpha code.

What I would like to know is what other features would poeple like to see in clearcanvas that I can work on? Some features we will give back to clearcanvas others might be a paid solutions depending on the amount of work involved. All bug fixes and enhances to PACS and RIS will always be given back to the project.

We were going to workin on sliverlight viewer but it seems Clearcanvas has already started this task so we will wait and see that they have done. We most likely will have to enchance it for speed over WAN.

What would you guys be willing to pay for MWL/MPPS and HL7?

Last, after we complete the above projects we will be offerring paid support for clearcanvas. We will offer different levels of support but most levels will include bug fixes.

Would like to know is there is any interest in support with bug fixes.

I supuse you are part of Canvas team... Aren't you?
If you aren't, I think you are going in a different way from Canvas Policies and GNU, you are developing a commercial soluccion based on a GNU licence... I know you don't have legal impediment... But I prefer wait for Canvas release of MWL and HL7 too... Or a sponsored by at least... I've been trying and implementing Canvas solutions for about 1 year and I'm interested in commercial AP too...

I hope you can finish quickly your develop and you can release it as soon it's finished... And share your improvement with this community...

In resume, I'm interested on your support and release only if it's part of Canvas Team, of course...

I am not part of the Clearcanvas team.

This is from clearcanvas license page:
Licensing All of our source code, irrespective of the product, is made available under a license modeled after the New BSD license, a well-known, permissive open source license that basically allows you to redistribute and modify the code as you like. You can even use the code in your own products if you wish.

As far as support, I am going going to start offering it as soon as these projects are finished. That way I can have programmers on standby for bug fixes and new feature request.

On HL7 we are working on upgrading NHAPI library to support 2.6 and 3.0. This will be release back to the community.

I would be willing to pay for some assistance in building a MWL using clearcanvas. I have already built an HL7 server using NHAPI but have only just started trying the MWL. The more research I do the more difficult it seems.

I am not using the Clearcanvas RIS and can extract the required study/patient information from my RIS without any problems. It's publishing these to the modalities that I need help with ;)

 If you can get CC RIS to send an ORM^O01 HL7 message, you can use dcm4chee for the MWL server.  That's been standard functionality there for years.  

I've been looking for an OSS RIS that supports IHE Scheduled Workflow, and was encouraged when I saw it stated that CC RIS supports the SWF, but the unfortunate thing is that it does not support any of the actual messaging/transactions!  It just supports the "data model" I guess.  :(

It’s in alpha state. It works just need to polish it, then do beta and stress testing before move into production ready.

We have HL7 send & receive, MPPS and authentication for all applications working and in production ready state. We also change the PACS so we can use it in a multi-tenant environment.

After MWL is done we will work on:
1. Prefetching Studies
2. Enchancing WAN and VPN speed
3. DICOM DIR with CD Burning
4. Hanging Protocols - This one is a pain
5. Dicom print
6. MIP

I am not sure we will do the above in the listed steps as demand drives development.
I am pretty sure prefetching studies will happen as I am currently working on how to develop around a patent.

Sorry it is taking so long but I have a FDA require process that I have to follow.
