I am installing 3A Image Server on Windows Server 2008 64 bit. I was planning in using SQL 2008 but that supposedly is no longer sold/supported by Microsoft?? Seems I am required to use SQL 2012.

Are the any known issues using SQL 2102?

 

Microsoft publishes product life cycles on its web site, right now it says mainstream support for SQL Server 2008 R2 ends in 2014 and extended support is available through 2019. There are many places you can buy SQL Server 2008R2 online including the Microsoft online store. SQL Server 2012 just came out two months ago and it would be great if the soon to be released CC would support it!

PS - I believe Microsoft supports SQL Server 2008 by having you upgrade to SQL Server 2008 R2 (which is an easy upgrade to do)

We have not officially tested any of our releases with SQL 2012, although I've installed it on my development system and have done some very minor testing.

As Chris mentions, the officially supported version in our latest Team edition builds was SQL 2008 R2, and I believe at the time of the 2.0 ImageServer release, we were only tested against SQL 2008.
