Hi Guys,

I have a small question regarding deployment of ImageServer at a hosted location.
In this case the Workstation will be installed on machines a various locations having a simple internet connection (ie dynamic IP address).

My question is:
1. Does ImageServer allow such kind of clients for classic retrieval?
2. Will the streaming work in this case?

Regards,
Vaibhav

Vaibhav,

First, due to patient confidentiality reasons, the use of the ImageServer on a public network isn't really recommended. There is no encryption done of the images being transferred.

Second, yes, the ImageServer can support clients with DHCP addresses for classic retrieval. You would have to preconfigure the AE titles of the clients on the Devices page and assign them as DHCP IP Addresses. There is described in the User's Manual. Your main concern in a scenario like this would be firewalls, and having the connections not be blocked by firewalls.

Streaming would be less problematic, because the connections would only be coming straight to the ImageServer. This would be more likely to work.
