Hi everybody,

I've just installed clear canvas workstation without problems. Next step is getting involve with image server of clear canvas, but here, I have a problem when I start with the installation, when I arrive to 'databaase administration page', I'n not able to configure correctly username, password and DB server options.

I have followed these steps from this forum:

http://www.clearcanvas.ca/docs/GettingStartedGuide/index.html?installing_the_image_server.htm

However, I can't go on with the installation.

I'll welcome to any helping hand, cause I'm little bit desparate with this step.

Thanks in advance and I wish I was able to solve it

Here's a tip:

Launch SQL Server Management Studio. Connect to your SQL server using SQL Server authentication, not Windows Authentication. You will be required to enter the sa username, the password, and the server name.

Pay attention to these three, as enter them exactly as you do into the CC ImageServer database administration page.

If you cannot connect with Management studio this way, then this needs to be solved first before you can install ImageServer. Try reviewing the SQL 2005 Express Guide to see if that helps you out.

Hi everybody, I'm now installing ImageServer 2.0, and I'm having problems with that...

I can't create database...

The install Log:

Playback completed for command file 'ImageServerStoredProcedures.sql'.
Versioning database...

> INSERT INTO [ImageServer].[dbo].DatabaseVersion_ ( Major_, Minor_, Build_, Revision_ ) VALUES ( '2', '0', '12655', '37768')
> GO
Error executing commands:

El nombre de objeto 'ImageServer.dbo.DatabaseVersion_' no es v lido.
[SqlException Number 208, Class 16, State 1, Line 1]

Playback completed for command file 'imageServerDbVersion.sql'.
Delete file: C:\DOCUME~1\INFORM~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\1\getdbversion.js

I have all the prerequisites...

I've installed MSDE SQL 2008...

The credentials are OK, I have admin permission (User sa and pass are OK, the instance name too)

Where can be the mistake?...

@fagamendi & erandita: I had an issue during the install when I tried to include the default instance name. Try just putting the hostname of the server where it asks for the database name.

@fakriman: Are you sure that is the first error in the install log? Try scrolling down from the top of the install log and see if it successfully creates the database. If not it may be the same issue I had. Take a look here:

Thanks @bmoloney, it's not the first log, I put the last lines...

But the error is at begining, when try to create DB... I specified the path, and take a look to folder during installation, the files .mdb appear, but then dissapear... ?

I was thinking in a permission issue, but I assigned full permission to SQL user, and the issue is the same...

It's not an upgrade, I'm trying at a new server...

If it's a permission problem, Who needs full permission? I mean, when I installed SQL, I assigned to NETWORKSERVICE as user who run service... And to folder I assigned full access to NETWORKSERVICES and all SQL users...

Any idea?...

Thanks in advance...

P.D.: How can I attach a file to this topic? then you could take a look to install.log

@fakriman

This happened to me a few times before too, I will see the DB files get created, and then a moment later, they will disappear. Naturally, the rest of the install fails because there is no DB for the installer to update.

I haven't been able to reproduce it reliably or track down what the cause is, but I think it is SQL related. I've tried once where I rebooted and it worked after that. Other times I had to specify a different directory in order for it to work. I'm pretty sure this has only happened to me when trying to install to a remote database server so I'll assume you are doing this as well.

If none of the above combinations work for you, you can try to run the installer directly on the DB server and select only the database component, then go back and run the same installer on the machine that will be the PACS and install without the database component selected, pointing it to the DB server during the install process.

Good luck.
