I've been using CC workstation for a couple of months for veterinary radiology.  I download the DICOM images through a company called DVM Insight.  Previously, to bring up the images, I would go to the "computer" tab, drill down to the folder in which the images are downloaded, right click on the folder, and select "import".  This previously has worked a charm, allowing me to download the lot, bring them all into the viewer, and select what I need under the DICOM tab as I am reading the cases.  Now when I select "Import", I get the following error message:

"Failed to import the selected items because the Local Data Store service is not running.  Please ensure the ClearCanvas server is running or contact your system administrator for assistance."

I'm not sure what this is talking about, and do not have a "system administrator" as I am an independent contractor working from home.  Any help would be appreciated.  I've figured out some work arounds, but they are not as "tidy" as what I had going on before.

It sounds like your ClearCnavas Workstation Shred Host Service is not running on your computer. Depending on how this service is configured (log on info), you might or might not be able to manually start this service. You'll have to talk to your IT admin to somehow always start this service so you can import images to CC. Configure to use "Local System Account" is the best set up. Hope this helps!

I don't have an IT admin, it's just me and my laptop in the wilds of private veterinary consultation.  The importing was working just fine before.  I *suspect* it has something to do with the McAfee "Total Protection Service" I installed recently.

It may not be too much of an issue, I've refined my work-around so it doesn't interfere with workflow too much.

Thanks!
