Hello all members,

I create key images sucessfully in ccviewer, when i open studie next i show all images with key images also so my question is:-

If i want to see only key images except all other images in studies is it possible in ccViewer.

My main intention is only view key images.

If it is possible then how can i see it (key images only).

Image, the short answer is no, there is no functionality right now to show only key images. This is something I would like to add at some point, but I can say it's unlikely to be really soon.

It would be a fairly simple plugin to write, either as a button on the toolbar that changes the current viewer layout and shows all the key images, or as a button on the study browser, similar to the regular "Open Study" button.

Stewart

Hi, First time inquiring on this forum so please let me know if I breach protocol. I have just set up CC Workstation on a Win7 machine. I am able to retrieve images from my PACS but Key images are not successfully saved to the PACS. Might this be a firewall / exception issue? Thanks in advance for any helpful replies.

Hi Larry, under Tools/Options/Key Images, make sure you specify that they should be sent back to the "source" PACS. Otherwise, are there any errors in the Send/Receive Queue? You will have to toggle on the "Show Background Sends" button in the Send Queue.

Hi Stewart, Under tools/options there is no "key images" tab. I am able to send studies TO the PACS, but I get an error (Association Rejected) when it attempts to send key images to the PACS. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner, but thanks for your help.

Hi Larry,

Are you using ClearCanvas ImageServer for the PACS? And if so, what version are you using?

If your PACS is not ImageServer, please verify that your PACS supports Key Object Selection Document Storage (1.2.840.10008.5.1.4.1.1.88.59), Grayscale Softcopy Presentation State Storage (1.2.840.10008.5.1.4.1.1.11.1) and Color Softcopy Presentation State Storage (1.2.840.10008.5.1.4.1.1.11.2). You can find this information in the DICOM Conformance Statement published by the PACS vendor. Even if the PACS supports receiving these SOP classes, there may still be some additional configuration to enable this support.

Hope this helps,

Thanks Jasper,

I'm using Fusion PACS Version 1.4.0.  I don't see any of the SOP Classes that you referenced even listed in the DICOM Conformance Statement for Fusion PACS.

Most of my workstations currently run E-FIlm which creates Scrapbook Images which are saved to the PACS.  I presume Key Images are another way to do the same thing?  If I ran ClearCanvas ImageServer would I lose the ability to create Scrapbook images with E-Film?

Thanks again,

Larry

Hi Larry,

Yes, key images are effectively the same as eFilm's scrapbook images. As I understand it, scrapbook images burn the annotations into a copy of the image and save it as a kind of secondary capture. Key images utilize presentation states to preserve the annotations in a separate file without the underlying pixel data. When viewing key images, you thus need the original image, the key object document, and the presentation state. The difference in the display is that the annotations are shown as vectors, and not burned into the pixel data.

If you choose to switch to ImageServer, you would still be able to create scrapbook images. Alternatively, you can run ImageServer in addition to Fusion, and designate the ImageServer as the storage archive for key images - but this would require you to search a separate PACS to find and retrieve key images for viewing.

Hope this helps,
// Jasper
