Hi AJ,

Looks like you're running the 32-bit installer on a 64 bit machine, which won't work. That's the cause of the errors you're seeing. Fortunately, we just made a 64-bt version available yesterday! (The timing of your question is great :) ) It's one of the daily builds, so just keep in mind that it's untested and could be unstable. So, completely uninstall the 32-bit version and install the 64-bit version. Let me know how it goes, as we're pretty excited about the 64-bit version!

Hi,

It's in the daily builds section of the downloads page.

Do I need to do something first to download the 64 bit installer.... I tried and it says I don't have access to that file.

Thanks

Jim

Hi,

The daily build of the 64-bit viewer appears to have failed. We'll look into it on Monday. Thanks for pointing it out!

I just (as of 12/4) downloaded the 64 bit client. It still fails to load. Only shred host service log shows up.

It says:

Hi Stan, the ShredHostService log also contains the workstation logs ... it's a bug we know needs to be fixed.

This exception can occur for a couple of reasons, here are some things to try:
- Make sure you installed as Administrator.
- Make sure the dicom_datastore folder (particularly viewer.sdf) is readable and writable for all users.
- Do you have SQL Express 2008 installed at all? We've seen issues with this and SQL CE in the viewer. If you're still having problems, try moving the SQLCE*.dll files from InstallFolder/common to InstallFolder and see if the problem goes away.

Hope this helps,
Stewart

^ I was having the same issue, moving the sqlce*.dll files as Stewart suggested above solve it. The latest build 64-bit workstation is working for me now. Thank you very much.

Anyone has done any benchmarking / comparison in performance running CCW between 32bit and 64bit Windows?

Hi Celerity, I am not aware of any benchmarking that has been done. I have used the viewer on a 64 bit workstation, and the performance seemed comparable to 32 bit. Makes sense, really - 64 bit doesn't mean it's necessarily going to be faster, it really just means you can throw more RAM at the problem.
