Hello!

We are running our RIS database on SQL Server 2005.

I read that 2005 deprecates NTEXT data type, in favor of

NVARCHAR(MAX).

Are there any potential issues with switching the NHibernate dialect

to SqlServer2005Dialect ? SqlServer200Dialect uses NTEXT.

Thanks!

Igor

Good question. We have not tried using the 2005 dialect. We currently use SQL Server 2005/2008 with the 2000 dialect, which works fine. If you do try out the 2005 dialect, please report back and let us know if it works or if you encounter any issues.

Thanks.

Thanks, I will try it out. Just wanted to know if there was an explicit reason for using the older dialect.

Cheers,
Igor
